Triket Pajamanmin

Triket Pajamanmin is a sketch of a conlang designed in December 2021. The language was primarily designed for potential use in a game I have planned which revolves around the use of an unknown language without any kind of guide or dictionary. The design of the language was influenced by this goal, with a simple phonetic inventory, a shallow orthography and a relatively simple grammar. This was also my first proper attempt to make a conlang, so I wanted to focus on getting anything done rather than making sure everything was perfect and how I wanted it to be.

The language is unfinished, and the notes are presented as-is.

Grammar

SENTENCE STRUCTURE
OBJ s SBJ V [ADV]

  • stress falls on the first syllable of a word

  • verbs end in -o e.g. pepero

  • nouns end in consonants (mostly -t) e.g. makkat

  • adjectives end in -a e.g. asala

  • noun-derived adjectives formed from noun + -a
  • adverbs formed from adjective + -la (see adv below)

  • obj object marker: s after object
  • gen/pos genitive/possessive: marked on nouns by suffix -min
  • neg negation: marked on verbs by suffix -vim
  • imp imperative: marked on verbs by suffix -san
  • pl plural: formed by reduplication of first phoneme (if first phoneme is a solo vowel then a glottal stop ʔ is inserted between) e.g. pepepet (fruits), a'amat (people)
  • adv adverbial: formed from adjective + -la
  • pst past tense: marked on verbs by suffix n (and comes before other conjugations)

in the case of verb conjugations on verbs where the final phoneme is o, that phoneme is elided e.g. okao (to start) -> okavim (to not start)

full phrases can be used as the subject or object of sentences through nominalisation. in these cases, the object marker of the nominalised phrases, if it exists, is changed from s to sa
